Different Ways to Vote
In Georgia, any registered voter can apply for an absentee ballot. Once the Elections Office approves your application, they will mail the ballot to your address. You can send your completed ballot back by mail, drop it off at early voting locations with dropboxes, or hand-deliver it to the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration Office. All absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
You can apply for an absentee ballot online here. You must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
If you request an absentee ballot but want to vote in person instead, you must cancel your absentee ballot by submitting an affidavit. This form is available online.
You can vote in person on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your assigned polling place. To find your polling place, visit the Georgia My Voter Page and sign in. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you can still vote.
When voting in person, you need a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or voter ID card.
Polling places have audio ballots for voters with visual impairments and booths accessible to people who use wheelchairs. If you need help, you can bring a family member or friend to assist you.
If you are registered in Cobb County but your eligibility cannot be verified when you arrive, ask for a provisional ballot. After voting with a provisional ballot, you must visit the Cobb County Elections office within three days after Election Day to confirm your eligibility.
Note: If you vote at the wrong precinct and cast a provisional ballot before 5 p.m., your vote will NOT count under Georgia’s new election laws. If you are told you are not on the voter list before 5 p.m., check your correct polling place using the Georgia My Voter Page. If you are at the correct location, you should be able to vote or cast a provisional ballot.
Registered Georgia voters can vote in person before Election Day during the early voting period. Georgia law requires three weeks of early voting, including two Saturdays.
